Bike sales

WEST –  Open for sale of parts and accessories Tuesday to Saturday.

SOUTH –  Open for sale of parts and accessories Tuesday to Saturday.

We can’t reserve stock and operate on a first-come-first-served basis.

Opening times

  • Puncture repairs can be brought into both hubs between 9am-5pm Tuesdays to Saturdays and we will do our best to fix them right away.
  • If you are coming to collect your bike after repair you don’t need an appointment. Collect any time Tuesday to Saturday 9am-5pm.
  • As stated above, both hubs are open for bike sales Tuesday – Saturday

It is mandatory to wear a mask when visiting our Hubs or attending an activity.

Bike donations

Please drop any bike donations to either our West or South Hubs in the clearly marked donation drop off points, Tuesday to Saturday 9am-5pm.

Bike repairs

It is strictly one bike per appointment. Repairs will not be completed the same day.

We now have new funding for the Scotland Cycle Repair Scheme discount which can be applied to your service as long as the funds last. One bicycle per customer.

Repair assessment appointments will be released fortnightly so if you don’t see any available appointments please keep checking back.

Quick fix drop-in repairs

Drop in to our South and West Hubs if you have a minor, quick-fix repair and we will do our best to help you out. Please note that your repair may not be carried out on the spot, it will depend on how busy our mechanics are at the time. Any bigger repairs must be booked in.

Fix Your Own Bike

Everyone: Fix Your Own Bike takes place every 2 weeks with 1-hour slots available. Offered on a sliding pay scale basis. Make an appointment by clicking the location below.

New Scots: We also offer Fix Your Own Bike under our New Scots programme for regugees, asylum seekers and migrants on Tuesdays at  1:30pm and 3pm. Please book into these sessions by WhatsApp on 07902967859.

Spokes not Blokes and Maintenance Classes

Spokes not Blokes takes place in our South hub yard for 1 hour 1:1 sessions with a woman or non-binary mechanic instructor. You can focus on a specific job on your bike or get a general maintenance lesson on a subject of your choice. Offered on a sliding pay scale basis.

We currently offer one Maintenance Class a month, with booking available in advance of each session. Please check our social media channels for upcoming classes.

Women & Non-Binary Lessons and Rides

Group lessons and gentle rides are available for all women and non-binary folk. Bikes and helmets provided for free, or bring your own. No need to book, you can just drop in.

Group rides

Group lessons and group rides run at both South and West hubs on a Thursday morning:

10am – 11.00am: “Learn to Ride” group lesson. This is suited to people that cannot ride at all or who are returning to cycling after a break. This is also for people who can ride, but are lacking confidence and wish to build their skills.

11:30am – 12:30pm: guided group cycle ride. This is suited to people that can ride and wish to have a gentle, social ride guided by professional cycle instructors, or who wish to gain some experience on quiet roads.

No booking is necessary, please just come along.

Other Current Services

We offer Bike Buddies, 1:1 confidence building rides and other support to help you commute.

You can loan a bike from us, including electric and cargo bikes. Contact us at activetravel@bikeforgood.org.uk to book. Available for individuals, families and local businesses.

Fleet Maintenance and Dr Bike services will continue in a contactless format for essential businesses only.

The Cycling Friendly Employer scheme will now be delivered online.

We offer a range of events online, including film club nights. Check our social media channels for updates.

Our new way of serving you

  • We are only open for the services and activities listed above, please make sure to book an appointment where necessary.
  • Please sanitise your hands on entry and at the till point.
  • Please maintain 2 metre social distancing at all times from staff.
  • Test rides are allowed, though if you can avoid it, it will save us time sanitising bikes every time. The usual 3 month warranty remains.
  • Please do not touch bikes unless they are passed to you by staff.
