Bike Week 2020 photo challenge highlights
Under normal circumstances, Bike Week would be a week for Bike for Good to celebrate all things cycling-related; with events, group rides, and plenty of activities. Due to the current global situation we took Bike Week 2020 online, and were delighted by the way our community responded.
We proposed a photo challenge for a whole week, asking folks to post pictures celebrating cycling in their own styles, following a different daily prompt and using the hashtag #BfGBikeWeek to keep us in the loop. People rose to the challenge, and on 8th June began uploading their photos across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
We had a lovely variety of bikes on show, such as this beauty parked up at Gabroc Hill posted by Jonathan Patrick:
People cycled all over the place!
This shot was taken by @gleb5ter on Instagram during a ride of the Badger Divide in Inverness:
Here, @camprocter showed us their exploration of North East Glasgow as they found new routes in Kirkintilloch:
Paul Clarkson aka @vodkapc showed his many different cycling styles in one post:
Scotland’s Active Nation Commissioner Lee Craigie showed us her cargo bike set-up, with a reminder that cyclists come in many different shapes and sizes:
We saw photos of people cycling with friends, with family – on their own and in groups. Adventure king @elmers87 showed us photos of his cycle buddy on a trip a few years ago via Twitter:
We’re delighted to see people enjoying time on their bikes, and reminiscing over memories of cycling with friends and family. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, you can search all the entries using #BfGBikeWeek across social media.
