Seven Lochs and Canal Loop Led Ride
event date: 26/08/2019
Join us for a bank holiday Monday led ride around the Seven Lochs and Canal loop.
We’re hosting a led ride to Drumpellier Country Park via The Seven Lochs and Canal loop.
We will meet at Bike for Good Glasgow West at 9.30am for a quick safety check and bike loans.
We will start from the Bike for Good West branch, on to Speirs Wharf, and then continue onto the Seven Lochs and Canal loop. The distance of the loop will be around 32miles / 50km.
The path itself offers great off-road cycling, and many places to stop and enjoy the scenery.
We encourage you to cycle all the way, although there is the option to use the train / public transport for the return leg. This will be done through your own choice and at your own expense.
Public transport: You can shorten the loop via train from either Lenzie or Blairhill station if you don’t want to cycle all the way.
All rides will be conducted at a leisurely pace, and participants should be capable of cycling the full distance. Hybrid and mountain bikes are available to borrow, but there is a limited quantity – so please contact us beforehand to book what you require.
Please note that the return time of 5pm is just an estimate, it can be difficult to judge the timings of long group rides. Please keep this in mind when planning the rest of your day.
Please bring a water bottle and some snacks. There will be stops for rest and refreshments, but it’s good to be prepared!
