Summer Mountain Bike Sessions
event date: 06/08/2019
Summer school holiday MTB sessions for 12-18 year olds.
The Bike Academy are offering weekly Summer MTB Sessions for the school holidays.
Bikes, helmets, water bottle can be provided. If you want to use your own bike, please make sure it is suitable for off-road riding and in a serviced condition. Our group leaders will advise on bike suitability.
We are offering 3 stages of ride this year.
July 2 and 9th – suitable for beginners and those new to Mountain biking or hoping to try off road riding for the first time. We ask that riders can ride 10 miles on a bike. Confident riders are welcome, but the terrain will be focused at beginners.
July 16th and 23rd – suitable for progressing and semi-confident mountain bikers, who can ride 10 miles inclucing small hills on off-road terrain. We will be using trail centres and this is a great opportunity to expand your MTB horizons in new trails.
July 30th and August 6th – suitable for those who are confident at Mountain Biking and looking to stretch themselves some more. It will include bigger hills, more technical riding and longer duration spent on the bike. We will be using Trails that require more vigorous riding and the opportunity to push your MTB skills that little bit further.
Please check your suitability for each session, email or call us us if you have questions. neil@bikeforgood.org.uk
Cost
This year we are asking for a recommended donation to cover some of our costs. As a charity we rely on funding to operate and this year we have no direct funding to cover our costs for these sessions. We are still keen to offer this service as we know how many young people have benefitted over the years.
Please bring a suggested donation of £20 per session if you can afford it. If you cannot afford this, do not worry, we won’t exclude anyone for financial reasons, so please come along – all are welcome!
