Family Essential Cycling Skills Sessions

Bike for Good is committed to providing parents and families the confidence and skills to cycle together through increased cycle training opportunities. We offer cycle confidence sessions for the whole family, aimed at getting both adults and children cycling safely and confidently on roads.

These ‘Family Essential Cycling Skills Sessions’ are delivered to the whole family in your local and familiar area.

The sessions are designed to provide parents & guardians with the skills and confidence needed to cycle together safely as a group, and the whole family is encouraged to attend.

The session lasts 2.5 hours and is tailored to meet the needs of the family.

You need to be able to cycle, but don’t need any specific skills other than the desire to be more confident on your bike.

You and your family will need access to a bike in working order (unless children are in a child seat or trailer) and clothes appropriate for the weather.

These sessions are free but you are welcome to make a donation to us.

Once you have completed Family Essential Cycling Skills, you & your loved ones should have improved confidence to make everyday trips by bike.

To get started, please email to enquire about booking your session now. The qualified cycle trainer will provide the session in your local area.

We have a limited amount of free sessions so contact us today! First come first served and strictly 1 session per family.

These sessions are provided by funding from Cycling Scotland.

Kiddical Mass

As well as skills sessions, we’re committed to running regular ‘Kiddical Mass’ events (the child-focused version of Critical Mass), when Covid-19 restrictions permit.

Led rides

We also ensure that some of our bi-monthly led rides are family-friendly, providing shorter and more off-road routes that the whole family can join along with. We’ll make it clear when led rides are suitable for children too.

You can also check out our young people services available for children and young people in Greater Govanhill.
