Do you want to get out on your bike, but not sure where to start? We hear you and we are here for you. Cycling can indeed be male dominated, so we are here to fix that. That’s why we offer a programme of cycling activities for women and non-binary people.
From weekly cycle lessons and group rides to Fix Your Own Bike and regular mechanic sessions, let’s change the norm together.
It doesn’t matter what level of cycling you have done in the past, or if you have done any cycling at all, we’re here to help you get started.
Beginner cycling lessons – Free drop-in
- Tuesday – 10am -11am – West Hub
- Thursday – 10am – 11am – South Hub
Led rides – Free drop-in
Our led rides are gentle, social rides, mostly utilising cycling infrastructure for confident riders and those interested in building confidence.
- Tuesday – 11.30am – 1pm – West Hub
- Thursday – 11.30am-1pm – South Hub
One-to-one cycling lessons or led ride – Free
If group sessions aren’t suitable, you can request a one-to-one session. Drop our friendly team an email at activetravel@bikeforgood.org.
Fix Your Own Bike/Maintenance sessions
Do you feel like you don’t fit into a traditional mechanic shop setting? As part of the Women and Non-binary programme, we offer Fix Your Own Bike sessions that are women-centred, and open to anyone, including non-binary and LGBTQ+.
Our women and non-binary mechanics will be on hand to offer advice and guidance as well as tools and assistance.
Sessions can be pre-booked by emailing activetravel@bikeforgood.org.u
