Bike for Good delivers a project for children & young people in the Greater Govanhill area.
The project is called ‘Govanhill Gears’ and aims to improve the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of children & young people in the local area through a variety of cycling activities.
The project aims to increase the connections that children & young people have with their local community.
There are regular activities running from our South hub, along with day trips and events.
Govanhill Gears activities
Youth Fix Your Own Bike (YFYOB) or Build Your Own BMX (BYOBMX)
Children aged 10-18 years are invited to come and repair their own bike, or build up a donated bike. We provide tools, stands, spare parts and mechanical instruction. The project aims to develop young people’s connection to cycling through mechanic skills and develop a sense of pride in their own bikes.

I have learnt a lot of new skills, I feel more confident, I feel healthier & happier. If I could come to Bike for Good every day that would be the best. It’s nice to meet new people here and things will start to get better in your life.
I want to work at Bike for Good when I am grown up. I will fix the bikes. I will teach people to ride.
I feel more confident and more loud!
