‘A festival of cycling in Glasgow for people of underrepresented and diverse genders. This includes cis women, trans women, trans men, non-binary people, and those who are otherwise marginalized.’

Bike for Good is pleased to announce It’s Nice To Bike Festival, running for the month of August 2022.

Formerly known as Glasgow Women on Wheels festival. Bike for Good has rebranded the festival to ensure inclusivity of all diverse and underrepresented genders. By removing women from the title removes the othering of and not exclusively non-binay, trans and intersex people.

The festival aims to get more people of underrepresented and diverse genders into cycling, as a social activity and a means of transport.

The festival will offer free opportunities for non cis men to try different types of cycling (including BMX, learn to cycle, led rides, track cycling) as well as inspirational film screenings, thought provoking talks, bike maintenance sessions and much much more. Our events are catered for a variety of cycling experience levels, so whether you’re a complete beginner or you’ve been riding for years, we have an event suited for you.

The festival will launch on Wednesday 3rd August, with a cycle parade from Bike for Good South to West Hub, where music, food and drinks will be provided and you will have the opportunity to make your own It’s Nice to Bike tshirts. The ride will start at 5pm at Bike for Good South, t-shirt making and celebrations will start at 6pm at Bike for Good West.

It’s Nice to Bike Festival is programmed by Bike for Good and funded by Glasgow Life and Smarter Choices Smarter Places, to celebrate one year until Glasgow hosts the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
