Got the knowledge and skills to maintain your bike yourself but don’t have the tools and the parts to do so?
Our ‘Fix Your Own Bike’ (FYOB) workshop is a space for do-it-yourself repairs and maintenance where you can rent a workstand, use our tools and have certified professional mechanics and volunteers help and advise you through the process while you do the work.
We have a wide range of new and used parts to help you keep your bike on the road.
Entry is based on a first come – first served basis. Under sixteen-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult.
Our FYOB spaces are open to use at any time that our shops are open. However, apart from the times stated below, there will be no assistance on hand from any mechanics.
Wednesdays: 16:00 – 20:00 (last entry at 19.00)
Saturdays: 10.00 – 16.00 (last entry at 15.00)
Thursdays: 17:00 – 20:00 (last entry at 19.00)
You are fixing your own bike, therefore an appropriate level of mechanical ability will be needed for these sessions. If you think you are not skilled enough yet, then we welcome you to sign up for one of our group or One-to-One Maintenance Classes. There is a class for every ability and they are designed to enable a progression to each level. No one will be turned away due to a lack of funds.
